A good day.

This was a good day

Today I woke late and decided not to go to work
We drank coffee and decided to go shopping for nothing really
The sun shone and I looked at her as she laughed and smiled inside
We talked and laughed and held hands.
In the sunshine we renewed our vows once again without words
We ate lunch on the patio and talked about nothing in particular
Then we went upstairs and made love.
24 years of love completed once again
This was a good day.

I think this was so very beautiful and simple. It reminds me of a day a spent with someone I love.

Always a sign of a good poem when it is precise and original, but still relatable.
