Ending credits

In honor of Single's Awareness day, here's something short and hopefully sweet.

"Ending credits"

We whispered hello in a voice
that sounded like love, and though
it ended with a distant kiss
somehow the melody plays on
like Pachelbel's wedding song
as yesterday's clouds wash the sky
my lips curl up in wistful delight
dreaming of those better times.

"single's awareness day"?

or

"singles' awareness day"???

the first seems to say ONLY a 'single' should be 'aware'... of what, who knows?... and the second seems to say ALL singles should be aware... of what, i've no clue...

if it's meant for making all of us aware of 'singles' [whatever they are], what is it we're meant to be aware of about them?...

sorry, but this old-fashioned, twice-married, many-times-otherwise-unsingle and now single-forever lady is confused...

hugs, maia
