My Needle, My Thread
My needle, my thread,
my words.
An 'e' here
a 'j' over there.
Sewn into the line
a 'p' or a 'q'.
Embroidered a rhyme,
mended a thought.
Now, where did
I put that verb?
Pricked my finger
on a curse word.
Dropped a tangled
thought,
unravelling on the floor!
My needle, my thread
and my words.

Ms. Vodka, I am glad you posted this one here. I didn't comment on it before. Sorry. You are so creative, the weaving of words in this piece makes it such a wonderful blanket of words. I truly enjoy reading you!
Nae

Not bad. Some suggestions, of varying quality, below.
--
My needle, my thread,
my penguin, my bed:
words.
'e' here,
'j' there,
Sew the line an'
mind me p's 'n' q's.
Embroider rhyme an'
taper to point of view.
Now, where've
I put that verb?
Prick my finger
on a coarse word.
Drop'd a thought,
unravel'd to the floor!
extricate gently,
entangle once more.
My words, my needle,
your servant, your whore.

See now that's where your work falls down. Penguin references are the key to success.

I enjoyed this poem, it brought back strange memories of the Topsy and Bimbo books I used to read when young, and the way they always played with a ball of yarn. The poem seems innocent and fun
