The Trees



Weathered
But standing proud
A communion with the earth
Buried deep below
My foundation.

Quenched
By gental rains
Sprinkle from above
My heavens

Sustained
by what’s not needed
To flourish with vigor
I’m shelter

Beauty
Seen with open hearts
Clothing mother earth
A basic need:

Depleted
In greed I fall
Did someone hear the sound?
I’m forgotten.

Earth
Ridden with moths
Humanities cause
Strip her.
