You Make Me Want To Be

You Make Me Want To Be

What's the matter with wanting to change yourself for someone else?
If we do we are weak.
If we do we are mentally unstable.

But last time I checked
I don't give a fuck how I am to me.
I don't have to worry about fucking me,
Being seen with me.
Having to bring me to my friends and family.

Those who surround themselves around me love me, like me for who I am
I love me, I like me for who I am.
But only when I am alone.
Because when I am with someone;
One I care for, I lust for;
Do my insecurities surface up
Like a dead fish in a rotting cestpool of self-loathingness

I want to change.
I want to be the things I see within myself.
I want to be energetic,
athletic,
poetic,
electric,
magnetic.
I want to be your shinging star, bright sun, orbiting moon.

What's the matter with wanting to change yourself for someone else?
When you are going to end up being a better person.

I loved this! It was awesome and spunky. I didn't like the cursing at first, but that turned about to be my favorite stanza! Well done, I can't believe no one's commented. The title's too... I dunno the title makes it sound boring but it's totally not. As someone said, if there was a favorites list thingy this would be on it.... =^..^= great job.
