MY MIND by Susan Sparks

On one dark dreary morning
I was searching my mind.
What shall I find?
I had no warning.

What? Was I dreaming?
Alas, no it was real
As it is still.
This wretched mind of mine was scheming.

Deeper I went down, down,
Down into the unknown paths of the brain
Searching and discovering, thinking and plotting,
And not the slightest guilt could be found.

Suddenly, I had a feeling of detachment.
You see, my mind and I are not the same.
While I am gentle and tame,
My mind is an overpowering opponent.

What did I find?
It's really hard to describe;
But of this very thing I did decide:
You won't know until you search YOUR mind.

Cool. Very deep. Its a good poem for all the philosophists and thinkers. I like it how you said you and your mind are both different, like friends.

I wrote something similar to this called My Mind (Mind Of A Writer) I posted it on here a while back. It is a little longer though and not of my best work, but I wrote what I was thinking at the time! Anyway I like this except for the ending, it seemed a little out of synch with the rest of the poem.
