Do What U Luv

Do what u luv, & luv it a lot,
Find time ev’ry day before that clock stops
to drop ev’rything, and… do your thang.
Damn the kids, your man or that broad, damn them
low-down situations & your bullshit job &
do what u luv.
We dedicate at least 8 hours a day
to put food on the plate
then at least another
2 or 3 to get our house-holds straight;
By the end of the day we lay so tired & pissed
cuzz we weren’t able to
create a little bliss.
So put some of that stuff on the back burner real low
then do what u luv
so you won’t show that other side of yourself.
You know that side that no one like
eyebrows so low, ev’ryone think U hate life
(Even though U don’t)
It’s the struggle & strife
that seem to box U in; put down that gin &
send them sins downstairs
to the devil, then,
do what U luv.
I remember once, I had a day off my job
I got up real early (ya’ll)
and jumped in my car & rode right off!!
From sunup to sundown
there wasn’t a frown in the town of
Bras—
I’d surpassed all the glass
that had stuck in my soul for weeks;
smilin’ from cheek to cheek
because I was doing something for me.
And I luved it!
It lifted my spirits & rebirthed my soul;
I was no longer cold, I was bold
like the beams of the sun
Felt like a 5 year old—just runnin’ for fun
Free from responsibilities, utilities and bills
I gave myself a well-needed thrill
was able to chill & had the will of
Him, back in my heart.
So take time out of life’s tense
lock-down
do something for U
to clear the frown ‘fore you
drown in the depths of depression.
Remember, no one luv U like U luv U
so damn the rest of ‘em
and do something U Luv

I agree we should all do something we love. Sometimes we just don't ahve enough time though. What has this world come to?

I'm glad at least one person is feeling the love--let's all try to keep it up and find something that makes up happy!!
