The rite of waves

The rite of waves they crash against the shore
Running to there insatiable moonlit mistress
Unending unbending this is the rite of waves
Atlantic Pacific pathetic names given by insignificants
Who will disappear long before the waves have even noticed they were here
Heaving pulsing swelling to give birth in the womb of mistress moon
As all life began
It will erode and reclaim
The rite of waves.

The silent rite of waves
As they beat upon the shore
Taking never giving always
Sigh to the rhythm the sound
Of an age as another takes it place
In unending symmetry a dance played out beyond millennia
The steps unrehearsed.
For us the end will as always wiil come too soon.
For them the endless slavery to mistress moon
This is the rite of waves.

Penelope is an unknown quantity at this point
this is another visually attractive poem Gordon. I did notice there instead of their. The other thing that bothered me is the reference to 'silent' when all around there are words of noises. Loved the sighs - crash - beat. slavery to mistress moon, wonderful. I love the sea and think this poem does it justice.
