    Love?

Just a little something I thought up on my way to work =)

    Love?

I always found it strange the way a poet speaks of love,
likening it to gentle wings of the morning dove.

Love is violent, it hits hard, and leaves you with a scar!

Bukowski said love was the morning fog which burns away with the first daylight of reality.

Whoops, redacted - was thinking this was a general cool-quotes-about-love post, now I realize it's not. Nevermind me...

I'm a huge fan of shortish poems like this. Just lovely. Here are some things to consider:

    Love?

I always found it strange the way a poet speaks of love, I think "I've always found...the way poets speak..." might read smoother.
likening it to gentle wings of the morning dove. and here: "...to the gentle wings of a morning dove."

Love is violent, it hits hard, and leaves you with a scar! Economy works best here since the rhyme is quicker than the stanza above: "Love is violent, hits hard, [use a different word than "always" here since you used "always" in L1] leaves you scarred."
Poets are always taking the weather so personally. They're always sticking their emotions in things that have no emotions.

He also said love is like dragging a bag full of garbage through a river of piss.
