We lurk in the shadows.
We hide in your fears.
We’re all around you.
No place to escape.
When we find you.
We will hunt you.
Run! Run!! Run!!!
As fast as you can!
Do not stop or we will get you!
Nipping at your heels!
If only you could just continue!
Outlast us in this chase!
Oh ho ho!
We’re merely toying with you.
You’re jagged breathing .
Is so arousing.
So succulent .
So delectable.
Mmm!
Patients!
Patients.
We mustn’t be too hasty.
Or the fruit will not be ripe.
Now at the peak!
Sweat, adrenalin.
Let us see that fear!
Oh yes!
All the more stimulating.
So close. So close!
Pounce!

I loved the short breathless lines--filled with tension ! This reminds me of one of my favorite Dean Koontz books....That sense of mystery and terror--un named--yet lurking ever so close..Wonderful ! Peace...Jul

Your pacing there is incredible. I love it. I find speed when writing really hard - everything seems drawn-out when I put pen to paper.

Great structure, short quick sentences, fantastic pace leads you to the end and then it's over!
