    Fairytales

    It wasn't happiness in the making, it was fools folly.
    Momentary, crystal, *shiny and bright.*
    Reality lives in different colors, black & white, bare shades of grey.
    It wasn't a glorious escape, it was an Olympic dive into an empty pool;
    thoughts of tomorrow's shoved aside on a shelf, with room for only now's.

    It wasn't meant to be...

    Yet it's beauty, ever haunting, catches you in reflection against
    telltale glass... Where smiles can't rush.

    You have forgotten, moved on, grown up; big words!

    Overall I like this, however it has the feeling that it could have been tidied up a bit more before posting, for example "a fool's folly", with the "a" and the possessive apostrophe, and "black and white", both lower case. I would suggest separating "Bare essentials" and "Big words" from the preceding lists with a semicolon; they are not really a follow on. The fourth line strikes me as unoriginal, perhaps I am wrong.

    Such a long long time since I have put my work out for inspection, and my golden rule used always to be, do not post anything if there is a liquid spirit in the system!!!!!!!!!!

    Forgot that rule last night while in the height of the horrors and with said spirit (Mr. Smirnoff) on board (only two little-ish ones) but still enough to allow me a moment...

    Anyway, thank you both for your replies and kind words and critiques...

    Olly you are one million percent right in saying I should have tidied it, but it was a spur of the moment thing, and really the spirit made me do it. ( I did a little change)

    Take care guys.

    Lorlie.
