    Hush

    An erratic writer, these things come occasionally, for better or worse. My latest, written this morning.

    hush
    your words;
    let silence speak
    what you cannot say.
    would I want to hear it
    anyway?

    hush.
    be brave.
    there is no pain
    in words unsaid.
    pretend we are dead.
    hush.

    This has a very nice rhythm to it. I think the lack of a situation or a reason for the insistence on silence is a clever touch. Very nice.
    Poets are always taking the weather so personally. They're always sticking their emotions in things that have no emotions.

    Thank you, people.

    @Squalid Glass - There's generally a specific situation behind these things, but it's a new wheeze of mine to remove the personal information so all that remains is (hopefully) the merest hint of what the words mean. Hope it works!

    @Firemajic - Glad you find it intriguiging. What is not said could be anything within your imagination. Even though it may not match what the words mean for me, it would still have value. Or that's my intention anyway.

    @ jeffrey c mamahan - It's a simple shape, but seems to match the words. Glad it works for you.

    @wood - You, sir, are far too clever for me. I wouldn't know a French cinquain if it slapped me across the face.

    It's what's not said that makes this so grand, CLN, and how much is revealed in so few words. Kudos. Very much enjoyed, chill and all.

    Best,

    Thank you, Lisa, and so pleased that you can find something between the lines to get you thinking.

    Has a haunting touch to it. Very well written, loved it.

    Thank you, candid petunia. It still surprsies me how much one can say without hardly saying anything.

    I like how you have kept your description vague to link to the idea of 'Hush'. It is excellent.
