    Hymn to Lucifer

Controversial but Lucifer is a very admirable character and he deserves some love. C:

    Hear the words of Lucifer!
    The morning star,
    The evening star,
    Male and Female,
    Combined.

    Hear the words of Lucifer!
He who is like the torch-bearing
    Prometheus.
    By offering the Fruit
    Of Knowledge,
    To Adam and Eve;
    Like how Prometheus offered fire
    to mankind.

    Hear the call of Lucifer!
    Shining ever so brightly!
    Announcing the rising sun!
    The setting sun!

    Hear the call of Lucifer!
He who calls to your soul
    Reawakens you.
He whom shows you the truth
    And helps you through it.

Hear the chaos in the order!
Hear the darkness in the light!
Hear the sound of the rebels!
    Whom oppose the authority!

    Listen!
    To your desires,
    rebellion,
    and pride.
See the ray of light in the darkness,
    For it is Lucifer’s light.
Heed the words of the so called Devil.
Heed the words of the Fallen Angel.
For he knows what is best.
    Let him liberate you!
    Hear the call of Lucifer!
    The Trickster!
    The God of Light!
    The God of Wisdom!
    The God of Liberation!
    The Morning Star!

Nicely constructed piece - but I must disagree with the sentiment. You may have been completely joking, but I would have felt amiss not to say something.

This may be a coincidence, but your piece seems the counterweight to my recently posted: "When Satan croons" - I almost called it "When Lucifer croons", but Lucifer is his "good" name, as one who brings light - Satan is his evil name, and, take it from one who knows, his light brings only darkness - his gifts bring only pain - he is not "very admirable" and he deserves not our "love" -

I will leave it at that - but, aside for the plug for our nefarious foe, very well done - remininscent of Milton's Paradise Lost

I was not joking, to be honest. I've been curious since I was 15 (I'm 20 now) about Lucifer's supposed evil and what he did that was so horrible to gain the reputation he has gained. I also tried to figure out the connection between him and Satan and have found no connection and nothing that has made him gain the bad reputation he has. The reason I find him so admirable is because the way I view the story. I view Lucifer as someone who rebelled because he felt it was right to. Something happened and Lucifer couldn't praise a God who was acting rather tyrannical and keeping mankind ignorant. Thus, Lucifer gave the fruit of knowledge to Adam and Eve, to save them from ignorance and awaken them. (I also don't view Satan and Lucifer as the same)

It's a rather different view but I'm not the only one who has it. People who have similar views to me are hard to find, though. I also don't feel like getting too far into it here.

But I thank you for the comment. Tomorrow I'll check out yours as I simply don't have time right now. And I'm rather pleased and surprised it's a reminiscent of Paradise Lost as I have read that before (but never really finished it. I need to. I loved it and Satan's character in it.)
