    Most Important Lesson

    Class was in yet again.

    Explain me the math
    scratched my head.
    Rambled nowhere
    near the beaten path.

    Stuttered something
    about a dunce cap.

    She placed my head
    on her lap.

Learned a second step in a world
    without landmarks is a mishap;
    without guidebooks and signposts
    it's a tourist trap.

    Gave me something about potential

drank it in and wobbled several extra steps.

Now I drive and it's in the glove box
for when the compass makes no sense.

I greatly sense a feeling of being lost, and the way it was portrayed here was really good (assuming I interpreted it right). The wordplay was touching, too, able to express the vulnerability of one that is lost and confused.

    Very well done.

Danke Fuhrer (no pun intended). I hoped that the last two lines might help end the poem on a positive note (or at least down a positive road). But you've accurately described the feelings felt by me prior to the revelation I received from "her".
