Differences

What of darkness and light, two extremes of concrete certainty.
Like madness and sanity,
worlds apart, drawn by their differences but never to merge.
Diffractions in-tolerated,
fought tooth and nail.
No smudging of the fine invisible line that divides black from white.
No grey dawn between, no light on any horizon.
The meeting of differences held in vacuum and viewed from afar,
always seen but never perceived.

I like the final line of this, it suggests to me our tendency to not actually process what is around us beyond what is obvious & also the tendency to process things on a rational, intellectual level but not necessarily on a felt, emotional level.
