    The Most Vivid Color

Everyone in my lit. class had to create a portfolio of their work and give it a creative name and theme. I named mine "The Most Vivid Color" and decorated it all black and stuff. I wrote this poem for my portfolio.

    The most vivid color
    The brightest of all
    Deep and complex
    To fill minds with awe

    Its intricate veins
    Have covered vast regions
    What once was created
    For another’s completion

    A dark picture’s bright
    A black swamp is vivid
    To birds in their flight
Who’ve seen it and lived it

    A color you’ve seen
    A color that’s keen
    A color that shouts
    And whispers of dreams

    The color of black
    Against pale, white paper
    A beautiful word
    Or two for your thoughts

    The color of poems
    And novels and speeches
    The color of text
From the mind of a genius

    The most vivid color
    The brightest of all
    Deep and complex
    To fill minds with awe

    Hi there Isaiah,

    Loved this.

It reads with a touch of my old world, and your changes in rythmn and rhyme seem to add a certain innocence and honesty.

    You have a talent.

    Ian
a golden streak splitting the distant horizon,
a magnificent explosion of dazzling light.
    Stunning! Defiant!
...daybreak, and life is simply awesome.

straight forward, and to the point. I got the theme and sentiment of the poem almost immediately! I love it and I hope you continue to write.

    Hi Isaiah

I'm a big fan of black. Most of my clothes seem to be that colour so I enjoyed your choice of theme. Personally I like a poem that either rhymes all the way through or doesn't rhyme at all but that's a personal preference as my poor brain gets easily confused. Enjoyed, thanks.
