    Kita:Sadly Missed

    SADLY MISSED.

Under our feet or up on your chair,
Or out in the garden chasing tail.
    Many fond memories to recall
Such as a romp with you and a ball.
Your empty collar will never fail
To remind us of who once was there.
Our lives with love you too briefly kissed.
Kita, you’ll ever be sadly missed

The rolling, rollicking, reeling rhythm is suited to a dog, but fails to get the melancholy across, interesting rhyming scheme, I was expecting abba until I got to "ball" and realised "tail-recall" wasn't simply an awful rhyme.

Watto OB-Alliteration goes a long way.

I wanted to be restrained and wistfull and certainly didn't want to re-write "Old Shep". Pathos too easily become bathos.

Thanks for your time and comments.

I hate it when a pet dies. It always makes me feel I have lost a member of the family. I lost two dogs, two cats, one bird, and now I have a cat that I swear is part human. actually I think all my pets were part human. When this cat goes that is it for pets. I can't take the grief............
