In a home such as mine
Where life seeps
From room and room
As lights no longer shine
Personality’s begin to bloom

Charred wires toy with our hope
New emotions begin to brew
Leading us down this slippery slope
Changing our point of view

The pets go unchanged
Oblivious to the world
While we humans be ashamed
We drop our lives, as it gets unfurled

Hardened fists grow ever softer
As we reconfigure whats been disfigured
While hope returns way more faster

Skin shimmering in sweat
Mellow muscles tighten up
Perspire of Perspiration
Smells like a threat

Nearly done
With this battle of wits
Hopefully we have won

This once dead house
Glimmers yet again
.As our beautiful home begins to rouse
Joy fills holes dug by fear
Of our wallets becoming bare

At long last
What seemed a lifetime
Lights glow on the second try
While some rooms remain unchanged

Lifeless homes
Far outnumber
Those that’s been reconditioned
Still, mine remains in everlasting Slumber
