Cake

Men don’t eat cake
They only put
The icing on the top,
Or maybe to the luck of their partner
Eat small pieces every so often
And relieve mother’s stress.

Women must eat cake
Heavy rich pieces
One each day, many layers,
Until the cake is finished after eighteen years.
Sometimes more cake follows.
Sometimes they die before desert is finished.

Some men never eat cake
Or even stay
To watch it bake.
They stand aside eating light foods
Salads, fruit, carrots; and watching ever so slightly,
Sometimes they never see cake at all.

For some reason I found this interesting-- It has a very Noir feel to it...which sounds weird of course but poems usually put a feel in me.

Advice:

Change some words, i could do it for you but then it wouldn't be true to you. Find words to better communicate use more food and hunger words.
