what if we left all the puddles for the dreamers to dip
electricity gliding on your fingertips
take a sip of a glass half empty
and who's left to tell you
you are still dreaming?
I left to take a breather on another planet
pure divinity, in your palm, I hand it
who has the audacity to remind you
you are never free enough to imagine?
buckle down in the earth with your helmet
shoulder strapped with your weapon and your magic
enemies fire as they see you smile
wounded but it was all worthwhile
this dream, means the universe to me
if you focus, you can see it
manifest within me
this dream
street corners thick with humanity
folks crying from the center of their being
who's going to tell you that this is where
your life should and will be?
the mountain's peak is is too sharp for human beings
but if we put forth the faith and the feeling
I'm sure we could climb up the rigid ice
and laugh at the folks who wanted us to slide back down
fear of drowning leaves you standing at the shore's edge
watching for the tide to swallow itself and rest
in the surface your reflection dances
and asks you who are you
to be so recklessly romantic
this dream means the universe to me
if you focus you can see it
manifest within me
and it's you, the dream
facing me
and you suddenly complete me.
When people ask
"who do you think you are?"
I simply state I'm a woman who dines
with the milky way stars
and it's you sitting across from me
Dream,
and you suddenly amaze me.
