    Urban Warrior's Creed

Can a man become a hero
in this age of Mammon's seed?
    Or does the dragon's overthrow
give way to tainted mortal need?

Why are so many souls defiled
by the whims of stronger men?
    Are not the widows reconciled
through use of sword instead of pen?

Beat the drum, unfurl the banner,
shout out loud the battle cry,
like St. George in deed and manner
let not such honour ever die.

    Men of justice must forever
strive to wage a righteous fight.
    Lay to rest corrupt endeavour
the oath of every noble knight.

You can be proclaimed a hero,
new world man, a selfless breed,
hold the cause of truth in toto,
    swear the urban warriors creed.
To sleep—perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub!
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause—there's the respect(75)
That makes calamity of so long life.

I liked this, really, really liked it. It went down smooth, Woody...lol I like you style...but I didn't quiet understand this line:

hold the cause of truth in toto,
    至 高 神 的 孩 子
    Yī zhìgāo shén de háizi

Nails did not keep our Savior on the cross, love did.
    Can I get an amen...

I really like this Woody, wonderful and smooth. The sentiment you express here hasn't been very popular in recent times, but I'm very hopeful that it is catching on.

(terrib, I believe in toto simply means completely or totally)

    Hi Gumby,

thank you for you're appreciation also. As for the motive, when I was a kid I was regularly chastised by my peers and have a deep hatred for bullies. Unfortunately for them I grew up, got into martial arts and drifted into a job as a bouncer. I still hate bullies and my answer is to stand them in a ring, toe to toe and let the best man win. Experience has taught me they cringe and cower and fold. They have no moral sense, no backbone and no honour. I say let decent strong people look after decent weak people and the rest can go to hell.

    Again many thanks,

    regards and best wishes

    Ralph.
