On this night called Halloween
Down paths mist-cloaked and serpentine
Some fiendish Thingies lie in wait
Whose hunger no mere man may sate
They prowl come dusk and prey upon
Each naive fool whose light is on
And say to all who dare to greet
A masked and muffled "Trick or Treat!"
But, lest you feed them, hear me well
Their cherub grins were carved in hell
And just as you would bid them go
They'll drag your carcass down below
A game to them is all it is
These demons of the dark abyss
To cast us to the River Styx
And plot out next year's hellish tricks
Happy Halloween!
