    high school daydreaming

You have stolen my mind, which comes with a heart
The two of which don't function apart
The reality I know becomes lost in a world
Where my heart spits it back with a delusional reality interred

This world is not alien, I can read the signs
Which means lost in translation need not apply
The tracks have been laid, destination undisclosed
I know the final destination to be denial unless a new rail is to be posed

But my stupid heart, always willing to take the pain
Hiding the hurt, not wanting to be considered lame
You tell you don't, you act you do
Tell me then how I get over you

My friend first you have to know that
But I have lied to you and that, that does not retract
My heart has been hit. I am sure
But my mouth has a virus that wont be cured

    Lies here, Lies
There the truth of why I act the way I do

    My family broke
    My hymen whole
    My heart has been locked

and my gun, my gun has been cocked
Can't you tell I am crying out HELP
For my voice only desires your ears as the way out

Hey, Bobbi, just want to make a few comments on your syllables here.

This world is not alien, I can read the signs
Which means lost in translation need not apply
The tracks have been laid, destination undisclosed
I know the final destination to be denial unless a new rail is to be posed
These are the syllables I counted far the lines in this stanza.

    12
    11
    12
    23

If they don't match, it's a good bet your meter won't match, which can make a poem sound off if you're going for a rhyming scheme with a set meter and flow. It's a good idea with this approach to always make sure the syllables of your lines match. If you're intentionally deviating from a set syllable scheme, then nevermind.
Let's see if my above post is deleted without explanation. Wouldn't be the first time.
