    Rosie *purr purr*

This poem is dedicated to Rosie, who passed away recently. It doesn't have any strict form, but hey, that's life.

    Rosie purr purr

    “Ooh, look! She’s so pretty!”
    purr purr
    “She has huge ears”
    purr purr
    “When are we moving, Mummy?”
    purr purr

    “She’s been here how long?!”
    purr purr
“Look, she found the Blue Blanket”
    purr purr
“Do you think she will ever be friends with the new kitten?”
    purr purr
    “When are we moving Mummy?”
    purr purr

“Mu-um, I’m going out with some friends, I’ll be back by 6:30”
    purr purr
    “What a movie!”
    purr purr
“The house looks great now, doesn’t it Rosie?”
    purr purr
    “I wonder how she’ll handle the puppy…”
    purr purr
“Well, it’s about time you two got married!”
    purr purr
“That Chook beats up all the cats, except her.”
    purr purr
“Hey, Mum, I got the dates for University, I have to move in February.”
    purr purr

    “I miss my pets…”
    … ….
“I’m coming home for the weekend.”
    purr purr
“Wow. She has put on weight.”
    purr purr
“I’ll be back at uni on Sunday.”
    purr purr
    “I miss my pets…”
    … …

    “She didn’t get up”
    … …
    … …
    “I miss Rosie”
    Somewhere, purr purr

Dedicated to Rosie, who was always there,
providing the soundtrack for my life
    purr purr

I can relate, I love my cat Billy. He is one wonderful cat. I lost another cat, Cindy, before Billy, and that was so hard. They really are part of our life. I could tell you lots of stories about Billy and Cindy....and hey....maybe I should write a childrens book with those cats in them...that would be their legacy ..something to remember them by...
    Love the poem...

Thanks. Rosie was about the same age as me, and she's been with us most of her life (and most of my life), so it was hard losing her. I just wanted to write about how she had been with us through so much, so I just started writing. I ended up with a stack of random quotes, mostly from my own perspective, showing some of the important events in our family: moving interstate, getting new pets, moving again, and again, growing up, moving to uni. She was there for all of it. Pets are such a special part of our lives, and we all remember them in our own ways.
