    Schrödinger's Box

I can feel my pulse throbbing
at the very end of my wrist.
Doesn't this prove that I'm alive?
Doesn't this prove that I exist?

My pulse is proving that my body lives
but there is a deadness in my heart.
Is it possible to be both living and dead?
How do I tell the two states apart?

I suppose I am both, and I am neither
the very definition of a paradox.
    Can both states truly coexist?
Can I escape this Schrödinger's box?

Life does not come from a beating heart
nor is it measured by if the lungs have breath.
So how is it possible to define life?
How is it possible to define death?

I like the theme, and kept watch for a kitty cat.

But, there are too many questions. You're trying to hard to explain the theory. I'd like to see some examples of how the character is living and dying, and the struggle to tell the difference.
