Does it bother you? (one f word) limerick

Does it bother you the way some people look
When you laugh out loud while reading a book
    Do they think your strange
    And really quite deranged
Or do you just don’t give a fuck

Glad you both liked it. Don't mind it been quoted at all, provided that is, it is credited to me.

I'm not so sure about the last rhyme but I don't really care because it's too funny. And irony, that too.

There are some places where that word is pronounced like the 'uc' is an 'oo'.

Hahah good read! Very entertaining. I cant help but think though, it flows better without the word 'quite'. Maybe its just how I read.

    One nit.

    Do they think you're strange
It's cute. And you're right, some people do pronounce it oo. My neighbor has French Canadian contact at work that she says once used that pronunciation.

Shame on you previous posters for not spotting that mistake (he said red faced)
Well... I'm from 'Ull and oo is natural.
Yep 'quite' I put it in, took it out, put it in again. Can't decide really!

The normal syllable count on limericks is 99559, though the rhythm is reckoned to be more important. Sorry but you seem to be a bit out on both counts to my ear,
    Think,
There was a young man from Nantucket
    As the Ox would say.
    or
Dah da didee dah didee dah dah
As I sometimes, more eloquently, have been known to put it

Nice little poem even if it doesn't quite conform, and why should it?

Welcome to the forum, Sonofjoe. Although, as Olly pointed out, it does not exactly conform to the parameters of a limerick, who cares, it's an adorable little piece. The oo makes that word sound so much better. Much enjoyed.

    Best,
    Lisa
