    Infomercial For the Unemployed

    Welcome to the Jigsaw;

    we take pride in picking
    only the choicest pieces
    to stuff straight down
    your pretty neck.

    Our Russian Roulette
    is well regarded,
    certain to work
    in at least one-sixth
    of all instances,
    and the secret to our success
    is so well guarded
    even our competitors
    struggle to tell the difference!

    Testimonials looped around the block,
    no actor can pull off such a desperate role,
    and don't dare suggest we'd ever lie
    those strings are pulled quite honestly.

    Yet here you beg us yet again,
    praised be our good fortune and honest means;
    we see you salivating for that scrap.
    Honor our generosity.

    and trust that we've got what you need.

    You never disappoint, Edgewise, which whatever I have read by you. The language is positively content, which gives a perfect effect on the reader. The only thing I would object to is the rhythm, which - being quite broken in the second stanza especially - can be quite distracting.

    Our Russian Roulette
    is well regarded,
    certain to work
    in at least one-sixth
    of all instances,
    I love this! Clearly well thought out.

    Overall, another job well done, Edgewise!

    I really hear what you're saying here Edge, and you say it so well. Many layers, I like that. This stanza really held a bite, to me.

    The welcome had a bright start. A spark of humor, too. Then followed the whole system of a line of duty... or activity that was echoed nicely.

    I especially love the first stanza and the second one.
