    Empty

About a month ago, I was rummaging through some old files that I had found. I came across this a file with poems which I wrote during a time in my life when I was suicidal. While I found four in this file, this was the one that really hit me the most.

    Empty

    My soul I bare,
    It’s sad to see:
    Deeper, deeper, nothing there.
    Emptiness: that is me.

That is very sad, Brian. I do hope you moved past that part of your life. Writing can certainly help you release some of the bad things in your life and move on.

I haven't struggled with this issue for almost three years now, but I still have to admit that a large portion of who I am was shaped by that time in my life.

And, yes, writing is a great way to let out the emotions that are bottled up.

Hi, Brian. Despite your ideations you were able to express your depth. Writing can be so very cathardic. And it's so good to keep our old writings around. Compare them to our life now. See how much we've grown. Blessings. Laurie

Like music it can (and often does) heal.

Very sad and open hearted piece, yes.
The story's in there. Pass me the knife...

I once spent an evening with Lola (or Layla). She said "Make me breathless." I hid her inhaler...
