    the pope, Anthony
    showed-up at the coveted
    waters, an Angl'can
    with right angles connected
    like a mitre, aye Midas

    BLESSED BE HE...

    muffling a sermon
    for the Masses in wholly
    communion with the
    solvent & solubles, in
    extreme unctuous, knave in

    BLESSED BE THEY WITH FARSIGHT

    vestments black & gold
raimed with the bodies 'n blood
    of shellings & of
    skillings... cardinal Hallibu
    looks to burnadebt, amens

BLESSED DEEPEST BE HE OF THE HOLY WATERS

    to the friends of the
    Lourde, solvent & soluble
    n'more... the pope like
    the heretics, masking for-
    giving, telling not asking

    BLESSED BE HE FROM D'MASKUS

    Let the dispanning
    begin, the spilling vis of
    villainary, pope
to cardinal to pawn in black
    water - caveats' empty -

BLESSED BE HE OF HIGH OFFICE

    the pope, Anthony
    appears...fills with defiling
    resurrection like
    yurts...the pope, Anthony &
    the pope mogulmobil

BLESSED BE SQUINNY HE OF THE BP

    in the motor pooil
    unreg. dipstick in repair
    Sister Petroleua
    anoints his feet annoyed on
    the litreallon of virgin

BLESSED BE THE OILS OF THE EARTH

    Manni-Lambda-cum-
    Puget carelessly shattered
    on to the glebe floor
    not not-unlike all feet a-
wash in the whore of Babylon

    BLESSED BE HE

    flyin' not, into
    the sacrostink like a tar
    tsunami in to
    the faces of the vatics
    anointed & sacrosunk!

BLESSED BE THE CHILDREN OF CHILDREN?

    In the nightday, kneeled
    to the anointmeant to ass-
    uage energies, pray
    (ecce signum) oh my gush
    what is this fossil thinking!?

BLESSED BE THE CHILDREN OF TERMOIL

Haro, before I approach "The Annointment", I must tell you and share with readers that your Work has had an invaluable effect on my own writing. I find myself writing less tightly hence, experiencing more freedom in the writing process. And I thank you for this. OK. Onto your poem:

I can always count on you to fill in the gaps and always await in suspense!

It seems that you are speaking of the hypocrisy of the church, particulary it's leader (I wish I could get smaller case here!) I'm going to tackle some stanzas, relishing in your word play.

    aye Midas

    BLESSED BE HE...

    muffling a sermon
    for the Masses in wholly
    communion with the
    solvent & solubles, in
    extreme unctuous, knave in

    BLESSED BE THEY WITH FARSIGHT

    vestments black & gold
raimed with the bodies 'n blood
The Pope equated to Midas but with a bite. Turning everything he touches into gold for his own self-service e.g.
    extreme "unctuous, knave" in
    BLESSED BE THEY WITH FARSIGHT
    vestments black & "gold"
Note: At first you cap line breaks were distracting but upon second read I was able to get past them and then gleen.
    the pope, Anthony
    appears...fills with defiling
    resurrection like
    yurts...the pope, Anthony &
    the pope mogulmobil
"defiling resurrection like yurt" Yurt being a simple nomadic tent. What a comparison!

"pope mogulbile" Fabulous portmanteau! Just a pope on a wealthy business man's run, as good as bile.

"in the motorpoil" Another portmantea, but I need some help here. "Poil" as in gold core? Perhaps transportation. Nothing but the best in gold?

    Great neologism!
    sacrosunk
Sancrosanct sunk. I anything sacred anymore?

    Almost forgot!
    Midas.
    muffling a sermon
Good old Midas Muffler... I never tire!

Now, I await your enlightenment. Respectfully, Laurie

Laurie - Again, TY for the acknowledgement, I am privileged to be a part of your Writing/Poeting experience.

This Poem is satire (ala Swift), the "Church" as a metaphor (real & imagined) for the flow of the text; the "pope," his guise in this piece the greed of a Midas, you are accurate. The capitalized interspersions function as a refrain/offer-&-answer/"Greek Chorus" motif providing relief, i.e., comedic, draconian... to point/distract, all with specific purpose, some enjambement ; "motor poil" a play onto the referenced vehicle, motorpool, oil... Nothing sacred 'cept greed which sinks US. LOL, pleased you got Midas muffler, this made some noise! TY for the opportunity to elucidate - H'H.

Would never have thought of this as a satire. Pleased I pegged the pope and got a kick from Midas Muffler. Laurie
