    I Fear

    I fear
    losing touch with nature
    as my disease progresses
    scanning my environment
for signs that I am loved….

    But I see nothing
    and my heart rate falters
as my mind descends into oblivion.

    Surely
    someone is there
    someone must care
    and my heart rate drops
    into cardiac arrest
as I see in the distance
    the silhouette of Raven
    disappearing over the horizon
    beckoning me to follow….

    Looking into my own darkness
    I find a new awakening
as the Light of another world
    another time
    takes my hand
    and I am at last
    enwrapped in the arms of
    Love.

yes, fear can be quite debilitating and i've often thought
the opposite to fear could in fact be love? nice work

good food for thought at the very least, cheers

    and regards, ash

I especially like the twist at the end of the poem. It was optimistic and encouraging. The 'Light' as indicated by the persona in the poem must be the unchallenged hands of redemption.

    Thanks for sharing,

"as I see in the distance

    disappearing over the horizon
    beckoning me to follow"

I like this poem, but I think that this image is really cliche. That being said I love your second line. It's very blunt, but says a lot.
