    Pretend

There is a game we all play,
when and where it's hard to say,
we all play until the end,
    then we realize, it's pretend.

We can all hide our faces
    lacking in social graces,
but in the storms of one's life
    we face reality in strife.

So if you still want to play,
please do it day by day,
    realizing life is ending,
    no more game of pretending.

Oh, the facades we wear but when it gets to the nitty gritty of life they seem to fall off, exposing our raw nature.
    realizing life is ending,
    no more game of pretending.
You know I'm not one to comment on rhyme. Maybe a stab at Dr. Seuss. Seussian poetry I think I could do! So, if there are any problems, I'll leave that to others more well "versed"!

    I enjoyed the read, Laurie

Thank you for your comments. I wrote this several years ago when I was PO'ed at mankind for exploiting the disabled.
