    What doesn't kill you

    A sandy storm of death
    rips across the desert.
A stained piece of glass shatters,
and a feather is buried underneath the grains.
A bird fighting for its last breath
    crashes slowly to the ground
    becoming a new meal,
    yours for the taking.

    A famine induced lizard
    struggles across the desert
    in a long agonizing crawl.
    If he keeps it up
he is sure to be next
    on the gourmet menu.

    A rain infects the desert
    moistening the bird and
    worsening the stench.
The lizard, although weak, is not dead
    yet.

    He continues the journey
    across the desert.
    Vultures can be seen above
as they swarm their next meal.
It is amazing they missed the bird.

    And oh how often is
    the irony of death
    the giver of life.
    And this lizard becomes
    living proof that
    what doesn't kill you
    kills something else,
    which in turn,
    makes you stronger.

Supper edits in red will replace the draft you served. It could make it stronger?
I must be a fish because I don't have wheels (Douglas Adams).
I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things (Antoine de St. Exupery).

hes saying editing where he has put in red makes the piece stronger and that you should edit this because it reads like a first or second draft

Interesting idea but I have to agree that it reads like an early draft and needs work.

Sorry, StealSniper, for being obtuse ("Supper..."). I see you got my "red-pen" suggestions, and it reads better.

I will work on this one, but i must admit most of my poems are first drafts and i don't do much to them, but i will definitely try to make this better.
