    No Pity for the Glove

    Two palms
    Ten fingers

    You
    my beloved sister
    sheath each blister

    in fawn lace glove

    And be they naked
    no less I’d love

    But dear, she said,
    I’ve not told you this

These gloves I wear still smell of Ambergris
when they once belonged to Queen Elizabeth.

Inspired by my best friend who has Psoriasis
and fortunately a sense of humor!

Your friend has a delightful sense of humor Laurie. Did you show her this? It's a nice tribute to a friend, I think.

I wrote this yesterday while she was on her way over to my house. Yes. She has a great sense of humour and was looking forward to showing it her husband (who also hase a sese of humour!)

I will be writing a poem for her which will have more depth but she's been needing cheering up lately. I think any little poem with a little bright bow on it can do wonders for someone's spirit. Picked me up, too, in the writing.

Thanks for reading and commenting Cindy. Laurie

Thank you so much, Jul. Yeah, funny how I was able to present Psoriasis in a humorous way. If you have any illness just let me know and I'll try to do the same for you.

    Love ya!

This is right up my alley, Law, it's always best to poke fun at the bad we can't change. I pray she's faring well. Loved the clever twist at the end, very clever, indeed.

Thanks, Lisa. You know. A bit of humour can't hurt when you're already hurting. Really pleased you liked the ending. Sweated out that rhyme! Laurie

Nicely executed, Laurie. Ambergris should be one word.

I like the delicate and structured way you've put together these stanzas. And, as always, excellent economization.

    Nice work.

Thank you, Glass. Here, I've never used such an economy of words so your kudos means much. Brevity ain't easy for me!
