I know where this is coming from, I think we all do. Actually I was really blocked for a lon time and I ended up reading a book about writing and found the it did not open the door, but it put the handle within reach..you know what I mean?
Lately I have been writing in a 'first person as it happens' kind of style, and it keeps me going because I have to wonder what my character does next, what shapes the chapter...
Also, I find critiquing (specifically in File 13) seems to help.
Good luck
weeds..

P.S. I carry a notebook and will write a little bit by hand, but not too much because then I never type the story up and it is left to be lost and no good to anyone.. But, I completely find the computer to be much more forgiving of spelling errors and editing, because editing often takes me in a completely different direction, I need the space.
As for ritual... I like ice cream, and reading, try both?

Old school (pen and paper) and new school (computer keyboard). Music or silence dependent on mood, and more often than not these days standing by the back door with cigarette in hand trying to keep hold of the three lines I'm running around in my head as the basis for something.

When I'm writing for work, I prepare using research and coffee
(not necessarily in that order), and keep doing so until either:
1) I found the point; or
2) the deadline looms ...
When I'm writing for me, it's because the juices are flowing ...
and will keep on flowing until I do something about it ...
