    Speech to Text!

I am rather worried that this could see me drummed out of writer's club altogether but,
I have just got my hands on this rather wonderful software that will allow you to talk into it while your puter converts your speech into text!
I have been having a whale of a time with this and wondered whether you think that you could write a complete book with just your speech only?
Ok you can do a little editing, actually if your like me you'll do a lot of editing as the software is currently struggling to understand my cockneyese, that's wot me and the queen speaks!

This topic has been done to death a few times here. There are just so many problems inherent in understanding individual speech patterns that it may never get a real foothold in creative "writing".

And the Queen, bless her, speaks wot is known as RP, or Received Pronunciation. Unlike her cloth-eared son, who speaks like a cross between a Hooray Henry and a Somerset farmer.

Have been using this, gave up on actually 'writing' with it, but have found it useful for what I term constructs. That is a breakdown of what I wish to include in each chapter, I find that speaking aloud helps with putting the story together. Also due to my lack of typing skills I find this works for me.

I could use that for lists, Chapter breakdown and the like. Gimme, gimme...

Trouble is I often listen to the radio at the same time.

The way I speak and write are so different that I don't think it'd be very helpful, but if it works for you, that's pretty cool. There's no way in hell I'd manage to write a book with it, though.

For jotting ideas down quickly, I can see it being useful to me, but I have a little dictaphone and a notebook for that. I wonder if you can use it to decrypt song lyrics?
