That's not a maybe. That's a basic element of capitalism. When you get to college you should take an intro to economics course—interesting stuff if abstract theories appeal to you. Economics is about incentives. People do everything because of incentives. In the capitalist system, there is incentive to innovate because it puts you ahead of everyone else, and because it's such a competitive system, EVERYONE constantly innovates to try and one-up the next guy. Look at cars. They come out with new models every year, with ever increasing features.

Now, the third world isn't a product of capitalism directly. Indirectly, yes. But capitalism does just fine without imperialism (as it has in the U.S.). Colonialism and a history of exploitation by Europeans (long before capitalism even existed) is what has certain countries impoverished right now.

Love makes the world go round

An old freind once told me money makes the world go round. But I disagree. I beleive Love makes the world go round because we are all after the same thing Love. Some people become obssesed over money thinking it will satisfy them or bring happiness but as soon as the money runs out the happiness is gone.

Love is the only thing in this world that has any real meaning. Love for our fellow man, and Love for our World, In Materialistic Society Love is decreasing and we are becoming more like Animals competing with eachother for Money and Status but as we struggle to gain these things and forget about love we gradually lose what makes us really human.

You should've been around in the imperial days... marriage was for money and politics, nothing else. I kind of like this world. I can be equal.

I have no problem with everyone competing for profits, but they should be aware of how the rat race effects the planet and Human development.

They are... Conditions are improving globally (except like in Iraq and Israel).

You keep speaking of us becoming more materialistic and more greedy and such. When do you think we weren't this materialistic and greedy?

We can be equal no matter what time we live in. we just have to stand up and fight for our rights.

Its true mankind has always been materialistic and greedy, but maybe the future generations can change If a more positive example is set before them.

You know that's not true. Sometimes power cannot be resisted.

Sure it can. It only takes one person to change the whole world, but it may involve a severe level of sacrifice.

Real Success

Our materialistic Societys tell us how we should live, how much money we need, what status symbols we need to be successful ,etc. we are encouraged to accumulate more and more and to never be satisfied with anything.

But what If we decided It was OK to be satisfied by what we've been given by Fate. If We were grateful for what we already have and fully enjoyed the things that Life has brought us, then we would find a kind of inner satisfaction would take place, This Is what I call real Success.

Gratitude for what we have is the key to our happiness. Look at your life right now and see how much you have. You will be surprised, we are all very fortunate but often we fail to realise it.

Amen.

Futility is hoping in a castle of sand, building it day after day, pouring your life into it, to watch it fall.

Happiness comes from an intangible castle--with the pillars of hope, joy, love, and peace.

Living for the future is a waste of time and energy.. we all have the same future we will all end up dead. So why waste energy focusing on death.

Living in the past is equally wasteful. because the past is ancient history now. You will never get it back to the way it was because everything in the material world is constantly changing even our very selves. The past is like a dream in your head and focusing on dreams is ridiculous and wasteful.

I guess that leaves us with only one relevent option. Focusing all our concentration and dreams on this powerful moment in time called Now. Actually We are always living and dealing with Now and we always will be dealing with Now.

Now is where its At!
If there's nothing to reach for in the future, then you're already dead. We follow through the tunnel because the light is in sight--but if there was no light in sight, I might as well lie down, for the tunnel is death black.

The only real "Now" is when "father time" has come to his end. Till then, the sun goes down, the moon comes up, and the world goes round. We're only savoring glimpses. Lest, you're full Now? When Always is Now: overflow.

Sure its nice to dream of the future, its nice to have goals and aspirations, but to be consumed with ideas of the future and to neglect the present isnt healthy. The future is created by the choices we make in the present. Thats why If you care about the future then stay focused in the present.
