Well, I was thinking more simply, put it down.
One time, I got a fortune cookie that was an empty sealed bag. It popped when I squeezed it. Another time I got a cookie in the bag, but no fortune.

What is the meaning of life?
Can it be discovered, sliding through the knife?
Grow old, eat shit, have sex, get high and pump out turd?
Should we really listen to nobody’s word?
Worship an invisible person as your god?
Tap into the invisible to make it visible?
Have temporary relationships with temporary people?
Find forever in the hearts you treasure?
Try and become someone else?
Discover, as your soul you uncover?
Travel all over a rock floating through space?
Soar through the heavens, flying forever’s pace?
Get High and come falling back down?
Touch the sky, and wonder why you don’t drown?
Try and fit Life into a scientific equation?
Force, sensually, a senseless creation?
Is it really all as simple as that?
Surely with that we can combat?

Can it be discovered sliding through the knife?
Can it be discovered listening to the Wife?
Should we really listen to nobodys word?
Is listening to your own word so absurd?
Tap into the invisible to make it visible
watch the visible return to invisibility
find forever in the hearts you treasure
When your heart beats nomore then what happens to forever?
Discover as your soul you uncover?
Is the truth to be found in the arms of a lover?
Soar through the heavens, flying forevers pace.
When forever is finished you fall down on your face.
Touch the sky and wonder why you dont drown?
Look about and see illusion all around.
Force sensually a sensless creation?
The senses lie creating false perception.
Surely with that we can combat?
father time will put an end to that.

The dead know only one thing...
So many people in this world are trying to prepare themselves for the afterlife using the soul destroying and war creating process known as religion.
They think if they live their lives a certain way and follow certain rules that they will go to some magical mystical place called Heaven and enjoy a perpetual heavenly existance with the protection of their god or absolute truth.
They think that anyone who does'nt follow their rules or beliefs is going to some magical place called hell.

Death as an instigator of fear and delusion, and is created in the duality of perceiving Life as birth and death. Without duality there is no birth or death. There is just Life.
Religion and Yoga both mean to join, which means transcend birth and death to become Life.
Judgment is the source of our illusion.

And yet
It is the non-religious
Who worship Jesus.
For you see
The pharisee
Is a wanna be.
Just as
the stain glass masquerade
I'm afraid
Is in the shade.

This moment is all we have..
Living for the future is a waste of time and energy.. we all have the same future we will all end up dead. So why waste energy focusing on death.
Living in the past is equally wasteful. because the past is ancient history now. You will never get it back to the way it was because everything in the material world is constantly changing even our very selves. The past is like a dream in your head and focusing on dreams is ridiculous and wasteful.
I guess that leaves us with only one relevent option. Focusing all our concentration and dreams on this powerful moment in time called Now. Actually We are always living and dealing with Now and we always will be dealing with Now.
Now is where its At!

Except there is no such thing as the now. By the time you experience the "now," the external stimulus has traveled from its source to your body, and then that sense impulse needs to travel from your nerves to your brain, and then your brain needs to turn it into a perception that you experience.
By the time you experience anything, it's in the past.
Also, you can look to the future without focusing on death.

Less is more
In the soul destroying materialistic Civilisation that we are living in, we are constantly encouraged to get more of everything, more money, more possessions, more sex, etc,. but does more of all this junk we accumulate really fulfill us, does it really make you more happy to be greedy for more?
Actually when you want less, and you start getting rid of all the excess garbage that we all tend to accumulate, and we begin a process of trying to simplify our lives and become more detatched, then we can really start experiencing the real beauty that life has to offer us.
Materialism is the biggest disease afflicting our age. If the world is to survive the consumer capitalist society must be wiped out!

I guess my concept of now is slightly different to what your talking of here.
Can you really look to the future without focusing on death? death can occur at any stage of life. It is an unavoidable future reality. Please dont get into denial.

Good idea. Let's all go back to the idealized dark ages where everyone was a happy little farmer who never contracted deadly diseases such as smallpox, tetanus, or rabies, and who didn't live in squalor and ignorance at all. Yes, let's get rid of capitalism because it has done absolutely no good at all!
Those who reap the most benefits of a system are often the most likely to be ignorant of them. If capitalism didn't exist, you wouldn't have luxury of sitting on a computer and making such ridiculous statements. In fact, computers probably wouldn't exist. Modern medicine wouldn't exist, mass communication wouldn't exist, the concept of conservation wouldn't exist—hell, science as we know it wouldn't even exist.
You make a lot of vague statements about the supposed degeneracy of our society and some "real beauty" that exists outside of the real world, but they hold no substance. Your argument is based solely on a denouncement of capitalism (but no real reason why it's bad or any proposed solution besides a completely unrealistic knee-jerk reaction to it).

I think denial would be refusing to acknowledge something that will come whether you like it or not.
I find it ironic that you call this a philosophical discourse but refuse to look into the future or the past. Philosophy is built upon the thought of past thinkers and the idea that we may one day know. In philosophy, the present is merely a bridge between the past and the future.
Unless you're a nihilist.
