I've been trying to keep my site fresh with new content so hopefully to keep people coming back.

The problem is I really can only do the main chapter and artwork once per week, so increasing the frequency of that is not possible while holding down a full-time job.

Still, I wanted to do something, so I decided to add in some small chunks of side/back-story to help flesh out the main tale a bit. This won't be required reading but more of a fun reward for those who keep coming back.

I'm calling this 'The Archivist Tales' (http://www.soryanorder.com/archivist-tales.html).

The premise here is that the Archivist of the Soryan Order is revealing little tidbits of what he's keeping in his record-book, so we might see a little bit of side action (hey that's what so-and-so was doing while the main characters were doing this!).

The best part is I truly only have to write a couple of paragraphs and it's really fun coming up with some tidbits of the world the story takes place in.

Another cool thing: I don't have to do these one bit at a time. Using Joomla, I can just pump in 3 or 4 or as many as I can come up with quickly in one sitting, then I just set the article publish date for the next day, or the day after, and even set what time it should pop up on the site. You can also do this with Wordpress.

Anyway, as always, I will have to see how effective, if at all this is. But I think it's a technique that can probably be adapted to any fiction with a little creativity, and that's what we do.

So on the main page there is now a small link above the main story with the latest Archivist Tale. This is just another thing I thought of so hopefully it can keep the site fresh from week to week as the main story updates.
