Thread: Book Trailer Contest~

I entered my book trailer (I made it myself, and it shows...I'm guessing a few of you could have done a LOT better =D) into a contest over at "You Gotta Read Videos", a blog for up-and-coming-though-not-yet-popular authors/writers. If any of you get the time and want to check it out, it's here:

The trailer shows another name for producing the trailer... is this a "nom du vid"?

I really recommend that people who have trailers enter them in these contests. They have a lot of benefits. First, they are like a "license to spam" on a lot of boards that might say, "Don't just pimp your book", but think it's fine to say, "Vote for me".
If you win, another round of promo. Also, of course, just being there draws eyes to you video.

This is the smart thing with trailers: don't just stick them up on YouTube, announce that you have one, then forget about them--WORK them. Contests, directories, replies on YouTube... they're a promo tool and most writers don't really utilize them.

Heehee. Too funny...but not a bad idea. My dad has an old Airdale, I wonder....
