New animated comedy series based on my blog

Just in case anyone is interested.

Be on the lookout for our new animated comedy series, Fisher the King. Check out the new site here. The new trailer will be up soon. You can see some of the animation under the production tab. To see the inspiration for the series, go here.

I posted several of the original entries on this board a while back. I may update the progress of the show if there is any interest.

Thanks Ungood. Kangthemad, I don't know what that means. It sounds negative, though, so, okay then.

It's from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone - or HP and the Sorcerer's stone if you're American. Quirrel runs into the great hall and shouts the afore mentioned words, before collapsing in a faint.

    Congrats though

Thanks, Cefor. I've read the book, but evidently that particular passage didn't take hold.

That's great. Congratulations. Still looks like spam to me though, since you don't interact otherwise.

Kang, don't do that stuff. There are people here who are actually succeeding, and have something to show. That's a good thing, especially for those who have something to learn.

The idea that you can see people with published work and discuss it with them has got to be an advantage to a young writer.

fisherking, that is REALLY cool. And it's kind of neat to be able to go through your threads and see this build up.

How'd you get from blog to series?

Thanks lin. I guess you saw that I posted many of the blog posts on the fiction forum a couple of years back. They were not especially well-received. It's been a long process. I suppose it may seem a little spammy since I don't spend an enormous amount of time here, but thought those who might've read those old posts might be interested. I may accept your invite to move this discussion over to the new media forum.

Evidently, someone moved it here for me. Lin, to answer your question about how it has gone from blog to series, the truth is I only had two posts up when I was approached about adapting it into a sitcom. What happened was, I wrote the first post in response to an ad for a gig writing a short satire piece for a magazine. I wanted something I could use as a writing example. I didn't get the gig, but I found that I enjoyed the character, which in large part is copied from Mark Leyner's books. In fact, in the earliest version of the blog the lead character had my real name, much like in Leyner's books. When I wrote the second post, I had thought more about the central character, changed his name to "Fisherking", and decided to make the blog his story, as opposed to political satire. Shortly after the second post, I answered another ad seeking comedy writers for work on developing sitcom ideas. I answered the ad and linked to my fledgling blog. A day later I received a phone call from the producer who had placed the ad. He was in love with the blog and characters, and we first started the discussions that have led to the trailer you now see.

Mark Leyner. I hadn't thought of him in years, but he should come to mind immediately.

    That's a great trajectory, there.

When will there be episodes and what schedule?
