    Promotional Art for XD

Here's a few promotional art for the graphic novel. I'm looking for some amazing texts to put on it. any suggestions?

Here I was thinking- master of deduction. a word play because she's really smart and she'd cut your limbs off if you're not careful.

The first one seems busy and "mangish" the last one is really terrific, as good as anything out there anywhere.

What do you plan to do with this? Promo art? T-shirts? Flyers? Online stuff?

Thanks Lin. I think as a promo Art, it's doing quite well on deviantart. The last one could do really well as a tshirt. lol

    Lemme tell you about T-shirts.
You get a good design. (And that lipstick/nips honey is pretty damned good) and a cool tagline/slogan and slap on your URL and what you've got is a multi-faceted marketing tool that goes beyond promotion and not a lot of writers understand.

Now, understanding that you can get shirts (and totel and coffee cups) POD one-off from those sites, zazzle, cafepress, etc, here's the way I see it

Level one--you get a shirt and wear it all over the place. You have a tote. Your coffee mug at work or down at your favorite java joint has your thang on it. You get your hot GF to wear a small one (if not a thong). You're buying a whole lot of views for like $20. You give them to friends, get more views. You do a show or signing or are on radio, whatever...zap, you're a walking banner.

Level two--self-liquidating promotion. You do a book fair or something. You agree to work a band's t-shirt CD table if you can sell your own shirts, you do a street fair, cut a deal with your local bar or coffee house... wherever you can sell your merch, you can sell it at cost, thus getting "viral promotion" for free.

Level three -- one way your "Thousand True Fans" support you is by buying shirts and mousepads and mugs and calendars and crap. A cash flow situation.

Level four-- you want to try to haul your "Verizon network" of readership/fans in to leverage a deal with an agent or publisher... you have a shirt or mug to send them.

The cooler the stuff is, the better all of this works.

I recently told a girl thinking of self-publishing a novel to start by commissioning a cool T-shirt/tattoo/mug graphic, then building her cover around it.

This is wonderful work. It must be fulfilling to have a talent like that. I looked at your art blog and was very impressed, even though I don't much care for anime. I think the "Rorschach expressionism" of your diacritical characters is much more interesting work, actually.

Good luck with this project. I am following your episodes with interest.

I don't care much for anime, but it attracts fans anyway. I'm developing my black and white style. so I'd have something unique to offer the graphic novel industry.

I am currently rewriting the first volume. I'd like it to have the impact it deserves on the first issue. I'm also planning on sending it to a few comic houses so I get to do it for a living. And thanks for the support. I'm excited on finishing it too.
