    Flesh Wounds

This is another attempt I made to do an online "weblit" thing with pre-existing work, in this case a syndicated column. Which I place here for whatever good it might do to examine it and the way it's set up.

Again, the cherished tag clouds I was so excited about don't really serve the purpose here.

The "Sections" work better. And I'd mention to new WordPress users that you aren't stuck with calling things "Tags" or "Categories" or whatever like everybody does just because they came with that label: you can get creative.

I discontinued this one, too, especially once I did the ebook. Mostly because the ebook is SO COOL, cooler than a blog or website and able to use the full range of html and gimmicks which online websites can't get away with.
It is also practically useless as merchandise. Only runs on Windows, Windows warns against opening it, some unzip files won't open it, some email programs won't deliver it.

So I just kind of lost heart, to do something that cool for nothing but having a fun item on my hands, and anything less just doesn't seem worthwhile. Maybe I'll do it for ipad some day or something.

Meanwhile, here's the site. The artwork is by Seattle artist Jessica Craeger, by the way, who also did the cover for my "Mexican Slang 101"

    An interesting site.
I had wondered if short fiction and essays got as much attention or readership as long fiction. I get the impression that it is less common.

May I ask what sort of eBook you are talking about?

It's very premature, but I would eventually like to make my online novel available for sale and ebooks seem like the very logical extension of an online serial.

Is there a "best" way to approach that? Since you seem to be saying that you chose the "worst" way? Or perhaps not, are there even less practical approaches?

Jessica, the artist for the Flesh Wounds column (and now the book) and "Mexican Slang 101" is QUITE the girl, artist, genius, lawyer, roller derby queen.
Here's her page on Adoro Books http://adorobooks.com/jessica.php
