I've manage to add three pages this week,
here's a sample:

I was thinking about the future of XD, and browsing through the net to places where I could put it when I came across Viper Comics. They have also made movie deals for some of their comics and some of their comic books have received awards.
would it be a good idea to remain independent or would applying to companies like this help me? I mean this is a labor of love and all but we're also thinking of making a living out of what we write right? any advice is appreciated.
Well, I'd say take the money and run. You'd have to spend a lot of time and effort to get the kind of exposure (and income) a publisher could give you.
This is one of the great things about this approach, as in my New Routes manual: it's always open to the differential between building a proprietary readership for indie support, and using that readership as a lever or "platform" to get more favorable attention from publishers.
I'd say build it a little, try to get some eyes on it, maybe have a page where you reproduce some of the comments, etc. and run it by a publisher.
For that matter, it wouldn't be that bad an idea to try it now. By "now" I mean once you have a stone cold proposal/query package for them. In the meantime, the more you get going, the better.
There is a lot of stuff on query and proposal writing online.
But for a comic or graphic novel, it's probably different. I would start looking it up. If I run into anything, I'll let you know. Often the publishers have something on their site to tell you how to propose.
In fact, not surprisingly, DarkHorse has a pretty cool one here http://www.darkhorse.com/Company/Submissions
Are you on LinkedIn?
I've always loved dark horse for their comics. That would be really cool, if ever I get in.
no, Im not on LinkedIn, what are the advantages?
Pimp o rama!
And some good groups. Specifically a couple of pretty cool comix industry groups. If you get on there, let me know.
