If you have a desktop like Yahoo or whatever where you see the weather and sports scores and and headlines and stock quotes and the latest dirt on Lady Gaga or whatever, you're looking at feeds. There could also be a feed there, maybe showing the last five episodes of your project. People can also subscribe to it by email, get an update whenever you add anything.

This is your RSS feed now. It's at the bottom, and uses Atom.

Eventually, you probably want a better one, and to have it more visible.

Click that and you'll see that it provides a couple of ways to subscribe, including Yahoo. if you are using one of those, go ahead and click to subscribe, see what people will see.

    Here's what John's looks like--identical to yours

Wow! I never thought it could be that simple! I just attached one to my blog. The Online tutorials make it much harder than it is. Lol! Thanks!

    Thank you for that information.
Is it possible to have such "feeds" accessible by more sites or readers than those three? For subscribers who don't use Yahoo and Google?
I have also seen feeds on FaceBook and MySpace pages. Is that accomplished in the same way?

This is beautiful work, by the way. I am not a reader of fantasy, but I do admire illustration and the combination of boldness and delicacy in these images is wonderful. I am trying to decide how important graphics are to a novel presented in this way.

One thing seems obvious, they would certainly be a boon to selling related merchandise or using it as premiums to attract donations.

    A beautiful page.

Yes. My feed also goes to last.fm, the61, and a few other places.

It's a matter of what feeds you choose. Having your own installation gives you access to a lot of feeder you can find by searching the widgets for RSS. (Be sure to note difference between readers that put feeds on your blog and senders that put your updates on other peoples')

Also you can set up accounts on third party feeders like Feedburner or Google Pipes and what not. A really cool one is addtoany.com which shows a list of dozens of subscribe destinations when clicked, including email delivery.

One thing about feedburner, it can be monetized if you don't mind exposing your subscribers to ads.
