    NaNoWriMo Training

Hey guys. So, when you do NaNoWriMo you are basically writing on average, 1700 words a day to go just over the requirements. That’s a lot, especially if you aren’t used to writing anywhere near that much during the rest of the year.

So, I decided it would be cool if I trained on other projects the rest of the year, writing progressively in larger numbers each month, up to November where you write the largest amount (see make-shift chart below). I thought I would share my idea here at WF incase there was any other interest in this. I always enjoy how much more I write during NaNoWriMo. I am going to start with 900 words a day for May. If anyone would like to join me in my monthly “training” objectives for NaNoWriMo, I would welcome the community and support.

    "CHART":
    December - 150
    January - 300
    February - 450
    March – 600
    April – 750
    May – 900
    June – 1050
    July – 1200
    August – 1350
    September – 1500
    October – 1650
    November – 1700

Today is my first day, I will let you know how it goes.

I like that sort of disciplined approach to the writing. On a normal day I write a lot more than 1700 words, but I'll certainly join you during November. I've started to research several prospective ideas already.
    Good luck with your writing.

Thanks and my new goal, Moderan, is to be as efficient as you. More than 1700 daily? That's way more than I do.

I do a certain amount of paid writing-articles, product reviews, how-to stuff, and a bit of technical writing, plus I have several stories going, both short and long, lyrics for my music, and I blog daily. That isn't counting posting to several forums, which I consider writing as well, or email, which I don't, or code, which depends.

Huh. That is an interesting approach to, well, approaching NaNo. I think I'll give it a go, too. I'd like to become more disciplined when it comes to non-work writing.

Well, I wrote 921 words on one project today. I am glad. I'm posting what I've written as I write it in the Writer's Workshop, in case anyone is interested or wants to count the words. Ha, .

I put the first part of the project and will keep updating the thread at: http://www.writingforums.com/showthr...20#post1350220

Sounds like a great idea. It is a hard jump to go from writing whenever you can find the time to everyday for nano.

@Kat, yeah its always pretty tough for me. I hope this helps me ease my way into that, and hopefully will allow me to continue writing at that frequency after NaNoWriMo.

I was born naked, hungry, ignorant, and lazy. I continue to be lazy, but I've made progress with the first three. Now help me.

What is 'NaNoWriMo'? Is it contagious? Is it classed as a STD? If I try to import it will I be charged duty, be required to have an import licence from the Ministry of Agriculture and submit the NaNoWriMo to the Belize Agricultural Health Authority for a sanitary or phyto sanitary health certificate? Is it even legal?

Okay. That expands on the acronym. What nation? Which month? What's supposed to happen? Looking at the other posts it appears to involve a set amount of writing per day. But what's the object?

Pardon my ignorance, but this is something new to me.
