    What's Your Word Count? (2009)

I started a thread of the same name for last years, so I figured I'd stick with it and start one for this year. With that being said, I'm at 1,810 on day three. I'm doing horrible...

    What's everyone else currently at?

6k so far. I'm finally getting stuff out that is worth writing, so the first 5k is going to need some serious work, if not some serious cutting. But crummy draft is at least something to work with. GL, kid. I don't think 1800 is horrible in this stage. It's just a little extra each day if you're on a daily count.

Last year I was excited about my story and wrote like crazy. This year my story is okay, but I'm just not getting going on it like I should. I need some motivation, people!!!!!!!!!
I'm too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed.

I know how you feel! I've been watching, and trying to get in the writing mood, by stimulating my creativity. I've watched Secret Window with Johnny Depp, Wonder Boys with Michael Douglas, Robert Downey Jr. and a slew of other good actors, as well as Capote with Phillip Seymour Hoffman... I think I'll be ready to start cranking out some wordage come tomorrow morning! I'm excited now, found the fire!

Maybe you can find something as stimulating, to use as a catalyst for your writing? Only a thought. Good luck!

And to everyone that's already replied and wished me good luck: thank you so much!

6k so far. I can't seem to find the motivation either. I'll hate to see the cutting this will take once it's finished.

6151 so far. At end of today need 6668 to be on target. Shooting for 2200 though, to keep a bit of a cushion.

0 for me, unless I cheat and use the novel I'm writing right now, but I'm not going to. I can say I had my own personal NaNoWriMo before it officially started, and I'm at 52k with this current novel, and I'll probably finish it next week with my 2k a day goal.

Ok. I need to stop posting and get to work.

Right now my word count is back down to 600 because I lost my WP file somehow and started again, feeling rather bemused by that fact.

Anyway, Yah. I came here because I wanted to be a writer not a forum poster. So, I gotta kick myself in the butt and get back to what I first wanted to begin with.

    Sigh.

I hate it when I know I am distracting myself from working and knowing that I shouldn't do it.

Ok one game from AG and then I am gonna go write again.

22,486 words. 3 posts in four months. Definite correlation.

I just started today, from the seat of my pants. I'm at 2400 words, 400 more than I need to do a day. Awesome.
