After hitting a major roadblock in my short story-turned-novella, I had to sit out a day of writing in order to work on my outline for it. This particular story has grown tremendously within the last day and a half. I don't know whether I should hate myself, or be thankful that something better came out of it. All in all, I should really stop complaining and just write... Currently at 2,100, give or take a few hundred words.

I really need to get my butt in gear!

Thanks Ungood, it really means a lot! I'm going to a write-in at a local coffee shop, with a bunch of people in my region today, so that'll be good. I'm hoping to boost my word count tremendously! I just hope I write instead of sit and talk.

Ok after two deletions of what I had written and died at the 400 word mark it felt soooo good to put that 1,000 word count to my name! I feel like I can do this. Strange, but yah!

What was the plan? It's not too late to fix it.

32, 449 is my count. If I can do it, anyone can.

Five solid hours of writing today. 41, 487 total. I'll make 50,000 easily but the novel shows every sign of being at least twice that.
Ran the premise and some samples by knowledgable genre people and they think I may have a shot at getting this one between covers. Hard sf isn't moving very well but "dark fantasy" is all the rage.

I just hit 3172 words... I am not sure if it is the lack og a good comfortable chair that is killing me or the overtime at work.

I think a little of both, but mainly the chair. I am learning that a good comfortable chair is a godsend.
