No, Halloween or any other festival not related to Muslims is not celebrated openly here. Still, since different people live here, there are talks about it.

Diwali is a Hindu festival, it's the festival of lights (signifies victory of good over evil). People light their houses as much as possible to welcome the goddess Lakshmi (she's the goddess of wealth, I think). Children burst firecrackers -- to drive away the evil spirits they say.

Eid is a Muslim celebration, the festival of the sacrifice. People either go for Hajj in this Islamic month, or celebrate Eid wherein they sacrifice animals -- camels, cows, goats or sheep -- following the ritual of the Prophet Abraham.
Hehe I think I just gave you a cultural lesson here.

Haha the 'rajkumari' part is so cute. Oohh your son has turned 6? Give him a hug and a chocolate from my side. There have been so many festivals at once -- Diwali was just 4 days ago, now it's Halloween and it'll be Eid in a week for us. I'm good too, Eid will be a bit lonely -- my brother's studying in India now plus no other relatives this time, but hopefully we'll go out for a few days.
