a more mature me
If there is a more mature me somewhere out in the distance,
by miles or minutes, a spot of perspective on the horizon,
me setting and it rising, a beginning and an ending,
changing and unchanging--
If there is a more mature me, don't come too soon...
but, please, come as fast as you can.
Fickle Game
Who's to blame when you're short-changed,
when all the world 's a monopoly game?
I don't feel as good as I did before. I don't have the positive drive. I need some time to myself to consider the situation. Where do I go from here? Where do I want to go? We'll see.
I'm the slacker. The sand is the rut I've been in. I need to step into the ocean, wash off the dry grains of thought, refresh myself with some writing. I've never swam as far as this, and now I'm back on the shore, waiting for a boat. I forget, to do anything right you must immerse yourself. There is no ferry to take you to the other side. You plunge in, and either you drown or you learn to move without sinking, Going back to the shore is always an option... an option... an option.
It was the middle of Summer, just like it always is in memories of childhood. The night was in full swing of its symphonies of bug noises and bull frogs calling from the swamps and forest-land. The stars were scattered everywhere, the moon floated on its ethereal river in space. Danny Mitt watched the earthly and astrological ambiance from atop his flat roofed house. He pet his cat affectionately. The horse paced in circles, occasionally braying, which echoed off the trees and into the forest.
I feel a slight lull in my wakeful state as a writer. The first lapse since I've been working so hard. I'm not working as hard, aside from writing responses to business scenarios for my class on management, though I do tap the keyboard occasionally with no real intention and words do come out. I'll post one business case study below for the HFI L of it. It counts, and I don't really have a direction when it comes to writing; nor do I have a vast knowledge of it, so everything helps.
