    We don't like to call them 'ruins'. (We must be politically correct, even talking about buildings that are a thousand years old or older.) They are 'archaeological sites' and they are everywhere. Belize forms the southeastern corner of the Yucatan Peninsula. From the village where I live the city of Chetumal Mexico is just five miles away across Chetumal Bay at the mouth of RĂ*o Hondo, the border between Belize and Mexico.
